Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup Milk (more for softer less for firmer)
  • 4 slices toast bread
  • Butter or margarine or cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Whisk eggs and milk together in a bowl.
  2. Heat up a frying pan, skillet or griddle to medium-low heat.
  3. Grease the pan with butter, margarine, or cooking spray.
  4. Dip one slice of bread at a time into egg mixture and let soak for 10 seconds on each side. Remove from egg mixture, letting excess drip off.
  5. Place on hot skillet and cook until bottom is golden brown, 1½ to 2 minutes.
Turn over to cook other side until browned.

Notes

Important!

  • Hard crust breads are recommended.
  • Softer breads will create a soggy toast.
Toast softer bread before dipping it into the mix to create a solid base.
  • The goal is to get both sides of the French toast nicely browned, while making sure the center is cooked.
Using excessive heat could scorch the outside of the toast while leaving the inside undercooked.
